Building inspiring organizations

The Foundation on Economics & Culture and the Erasmus University Rotterdam have joined efforts to develop and expand knowledge on building inspiring organizations through the concept of cultural capital. Corporate cultural capital consists of the capacity of every organization to inspire its stakeholders. This inspiring capacity determines the extent to which people are mentally and emotionally connected with their work and the organization. The value of any organization is more than the financial-economic indicators can account for. A ‘good company’ not only makes profit, but inspires as well, which contributes both to a company’s performance and to the well-being of its employees. Building cultural capital therefore is of vital importance to organizational life.

The Foundation on Economics & Culture conducts scientific research as well as applied research based consulting for companies, non-profits and governmental organizations. The specialized focus is on cross-points between economics and culture. One research project concerns the valuation of corporate cultural capital, which is conducted as a Ph.D. research by researcher and consultant David Kombrink. Chairman of the Foundation is Arjo Klamer, professor of Cultural Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

We help clients building an inspiring organization, which starts with:

  • Stimulating the intrinsic motivation of employees
  • Capturing the corporate purpose
  • Encouraging inspiring leadership
  • Spreading the corporate story
  • Initiating inspiring sidelines, e.g. building cultural communities

Advanced academic knowledge combined with pragmatic expertise characterizes the research and consulting projects. Major projects are executed in cooperation with several specialized research and consulting firms in the network. We do not work with models, but come with tailor made solutions based on intelligence, stylized facts, practical experience, and creative thinking.
